Overview
As a front end engineering intern at Apollo.io, I implemented v2 designs for the core product and marketing site, built directory pages at massive scale, and developed a self-serve sign-up flow that directly contributed to revenue growth.
The Problem
Apollo needed to launch a redesigned marketing and product experience — implementing new designs pixel-perfectly across a complex Rails/Middleman codebase — while also scaling their company directory to handle hundreds of millions of entries and improving conversion through a better sign-up experience.
Approach
Directory Pages
Using Next.js and React.js, I built the v2 directory pages for Apollo's database of 200M+ companies. These pages serve billions of impressions annually and needed to be performant, SEO-friendly, and consistent across a massive range of company profiles.

Marketing Pages and A/B Testing
I implemented interactive, responsive marketing page designs and ran A/B tests via Google Optimize to compare variants. Iterating on test results helped the growth team make data-backed decisions about layout, copy, and calls to action.




Self-Serve Sign-Up Flow
I developed a self-serve sign-up flow that reduced friction for new users coming in through the marketing site. This flow was directly tied to Apollo's growth metrics — the implementation contributed to a $1.2 million increase in annual recurring revenue.
Design Implementation
Throughout the internship, I worked from Sketch and Figma designs to achieve pixel-perfect implementation across both the Middleman-based marketing site and the React/Next.js product.
Outcomes
